About DJ Ethan
Ethan Carter is a mover, shaker, and creative. His love for music knows no bounds, he values and appreciates it all!
DJ Ethan started making mix tapes for friends in high school so when he got to college and discovered the on-campus radio station, WCCS, he was amazed. Ethan had a weekly radio show and used the mobile DJ equipment to play college events. By his junior year he had invested in his own turntables and that summer he played a weekly gig at a pub in San Francisco.
After graduation Ethan worked for Mute Records and Eightball Records while maintaining several DJ residences at various nightclubs 4-5 nights a week. He played for some of the top venues and wildest parties in downtown New York City.
DJ Ethan Carter has been featured in The Village Voice, Time Out New York, The Face, Marie Claire UK, and New York Magazine’s “Best Of New York” issue.

Club Nights
DJ Ethan is available for monthly residencies, special club nights, and/or events. He can cater to a wide-range of crowds. His areas of expertise include classic and garage house, original deep house (vs. low-fi deep), tribal house, tropical house, nu-disco and disco house, new wave and dark wave, old-school hip hop, Golden Age hip hop, and 1990's hip hop and R&B.
Private Events
DJ Ethan can work with you to make your private event perfect. His list of formats is even longer than the club night options. He can play music from the 1950's through today. Whatever the occasion, no matter the size, he's got you covered. Private events usually require several discussions about the specifics. Even if you decide not to use Ethan as a DJ, he has plenty of experience in event planning and logistics.
Festivals
DJ Ethan loves playing outside. He is only interested in playing a variety of house formats at festivals.
Playlists
Whatever you need a playlist for, Ethan has got you covered. With a music library containing over 5k albums, expertly organized, your satisfaction is guaranteed. Ethan has made playlists for people's NYE parties, backyard BBQs, refined cocktail and/or dinner parties, group fitness classes, and individualized workouts.
